Piece 28: The end of time

“The end of time”

Once one realizes that one is not ones ego, but rather the consciousness behind it, one becomes ‘immortal’ in the allegorical sense. The mind once self conscious slowly hardens over time until the very structure of the mind takes on another expression of utter strength. This is illustrated in the process and production of the Magnum opus in alchemy. Because if consciousness is separated from but still integrated into the mind, the meaning of the symbol ‘life’ shifts radically. ‘Immortality’ in that sense comes from a greater understanding of the existence rather than prolonged physical life.
